Signage Overview

Lectern, wall and post-mounted signs

Although starting with a primary focus on the manufacture of noticeboards, it soon became apparent that many of our church, school and local authority customers also had a need for high quality, realistically priced signage. As a result of this demand, over the ensuing years we have built up not only an extensive catalogue of standard, off-the-peg designs to cater for most common applications, but also a varied portfolio of bespoke projects covering signs, interpretation and wayfinding.

A vast selection of signs, encompassing lectern-mounted information and interpretation panels, aluminium signs (both basic flat plate and more stylish “sign tray” types) and aluminium fingerposts is available here for browsing, specifying and buying directly online. Just click on the relevant link below to visit the appropriate section.

If you don’t discover exactly what you are looking for there, or you are just seeking inspiration, then why not try browsing through our user-specific galleries for churches, local authorities and schools?  Here you will find illustrations not only of examples of our standard signs in everyday use, but also of some of the bespoke signs that we have created to meet the specific requirements of individual customers.

Signage montage

We offer lectern-mounted information and interpretation panels in a choice 2 very different materials. For applications that demand a traditional appearance we offer our range of panels framed in Man-made Timber. These have a similar appearance to the many available equivalents constructed with timber frames, but lack their inherent need for maintenance. Alternatively, for the very toughest of environments where abuse of signs is anticipate, we also offer lecterns constructed in powder-coated steel.

As the name implies, aluminium sign trays are fabricated from aluminium sheet but, unlike the more common “flat plate” aluminium signs, they are 3-dimensional, with folded returns to all sides giving a greater feeling of depth, quality and presence. All corners are welded and dressed to give a smooth surface before the sign is finished by powder-coating.  Sign trays are available in a wide range of standard sizes for wall or post-mounting, whilst bespoke sizes can be made to special order.

In a wide variety of situations calling for a simple sign, flat plate aluminium signs offer the optimum balance of price and performance. Whilst being the least expensive form of aluminium sign, their construction from 3mm sheet, gives them a robust quality lacked by the plastic and composite materials frequently used as an alternative. Our standard flat plate signs are faced in coloured vinyl to accept computer-cut vinyl lettering or, for more complex content, can be digital printed. Sign backs and posts are powder-coated in Traffic Grey.

Our aluminium fingerpost system offers users a maximum of 9 fingers per post arranged on up to 3 levels, with a maximum of 3 fingers on any single level. The 76mm diameter posts are available in a variety of lengths and can be supplied with or without finials and base embellishers. Individual fingers are constructed from 165 x 16mm profile (not the commonly used thin sheet which can be easily bent) and the complete assembly is supplied with a durable powder-coated finish, available in a choice of colours. Lettering is applied in computer-cut vinyl.

Bespoke Projects (coming soon)

Our Bespoke Signage Projects page illustrates some of the multitude of possibilities that are too numerous or too complex for us to be able to offer for direct configuration and ordering on this website. From simple standard products made to non-standard dimensions to the most complex combinations of signs/noticeboards/poster cases, here we try to give a flavour of what is possibly for those with very specific requirements and those who wish to venture slightly off the usual, well-trodden path.
